Faculty & Staff Streaming Video Guide

Streaming Video for Instruction

Streaming video is an increasingly crucial resource for instruction. Faculty and staff may request the library purchase access to streaming videos that are not currently licensed or are not found in the library's streaming video databases. Requests can be made using the Suggest a Purchase form.*

Requests are approved based on multiple factors including but not limited to:

  • Available funds
  • Title availability (Is the title available in a cheaper format or through a different resource?)
  • Pedagogical relevance (How will the content be used? Is an equivalent available?)
  • Class size or anticipated audience (How many need access?)

Please know that the library attempts to fulfill all requests it receives but dedicates a predetermined amount of funds for streaming video each semester. Once those funds are used, the library may be unable to purchase additional streaming video licenses.

*See the Kanopy Guide for how to request licenses for streaming videos in Kanopy.
