Borrowers

Thanks for your interest in becoming a borrower at Davidson-Davie Community College Library!

Our unique physical collection is meant to encourage creativity and a love of reading as well as support the success of DDCC students, faculty, and staff. Please review the Borrow Basics and Item Information sections on this webpage before submitting your Borrower Application.

Additionally, please know that the library's vast amount of online resources will be available to you regardless if you decide to be a borrower.

What does it mean to be a borrower?

Being a borrower means that the library will loan you its items so long as you return them on time and in the condition that they were loaned. Borrowers need to be good stewards and considerate of others who may be waiting for items to be returned. Please be intentional about returning items on time and make sure no damage comes to an item while its in your care.

Who are our borrowers?

Students actively enrolled in any class or training at Davidson-Davie Community College as well as employees actively employed at the College may become borrowers.

Do I need a card to borrow?

Students, faculty, and staff need their college identification card, also known as a ConnectCard, to borrow items from the library. If a student is ineligible for a college identification card, the library issues a borrower card at no cost.

When does my borrower account expire?

For students, borrower accounts when not actively enrolled in a course or training offered by Davidson-Davie Community College. Likewise, borrower accounts expire for employees when they are not actively employed by the College.
